Third parties too often claim ownership of Community data, refusing to disclose sources, collection methods, and update frequencies. There is no transparency. Proprietary coding schemes trap You into unnecessarily high subscriptions.

• What if You decided what public data is valuable, and why it is valued?
• What if You could create the charts, maps, lists, and profiles that fit your needs, or the needs of people like You? What if You weren't so reliant on some third-party making those decisions for You?
• What if together we standardized the coding for simple things like Time, Geography, and Organizations…for all Community data in the known universe?

Third party information providers will lock You into large corporate subscriptions, dictating what You can and can't do with "their" data. Remember "their" data is really owned by You… sort of ironic.

• What if users that You collaborate with help you find the data you were looking for?

Private data is some of the most accurate and valuable, but only when aggregated with others' Private data (benchmarking, market share). Sadly owners of Private data are often reluctant to contribute because they do not trust others with their data, are not fairly rewarded for their contributions.

• What if we decided to compensate Private corporations fairly for contributing their private data?
• What if Private corporations trusted that their data would be treated anonymously, and only used as part of a larger aggregation?
• What if Private corporations believed in our vision, and took leadership in designing such a system (hey, there we go again giving power back to the Owners of data...)?
